Christ in You, the Hope of Glory

“Now I rejoice in what I am suffering for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ’s afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church. I have become its servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness— the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the Lord’s people. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me.” (Colossians 1:24-29)

God’s plans always amaze me. Christ came as “God with us”. When He left, He became “God in us.” He is even closer to us when He physically left us.

Only God can do this!

When “God with us”, He was carrying a mission for God to all mankind. Now, as “God in us”, we are carrying a mission for God to all mankind.

The Apostle Paul said, “I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ afflictions.” He was commissioned by God to proclaim, admonish and teach the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ to both the Jews and Gentiles.

For this godly mission, he rejoiced in suffering for these people.

Wow!

May we follow Paul’s example spreading the Good News sacrificially and joyfully!

May we make known among all nations the glorious riches of God’s mystery!

May we strenuously contend with “all the energy Christ so powerfully works in us!”
